CDMS Flooring Software
History
The CDMS Software began development in 1982. It was designed with the DuPont’s Vanguard Dealers in mind, and allowed DuPont to track the Stainmaster products these customers were selling. In February 1992, the CDMS customers formed a corporation to have better control over the software. Today, CDMS Inc. owns the full rights to the CDMS software business, including all rights to the Source code. Over the software’s 40+ year life span, it has evolved into a very comprehensive software supporting the Flooring Industry. Development is still directed to this day by our customers, some of which are stockholders in the company. These flooring businesses provide the development team with detailed insight into the flooring industry. Today, CDMS is the only software company that is owned and directed by a group of their customers. The ownership of CDMS provides us with decades of insight into how to best operate a flooring business.
The CDMS software supports single locations, as well as multiple locations and companies on a single Virtual Server. It has been built over the years to accommodate all types and sizes of dealerships with a strong focus on streamlined procedures reducing repetitive data entry and providing numerous audit trails loved by Accountants.
CDMS provides robust accounting reporting and procedures and provides the ability to create the electronic filing of W-2 and 1099 forms. CDMS is a true Perpetual Inventory software. This means that the valuation of the goods happens when you receive them into the warehouse, with an update to the valuation when entering the Supplier Invoice when needed. This feature allows you to run an Inventory Stock Status report for any date and provides an accurate value of the inventory that is on your premises. This is critical valuation is important for insurance purposes in the event of a catastrophic event, (explosion, fire, water damage, or some other Natural act).
CDMS allows you to pay your Installers as either employees or Subcontractors. The transactional detail history stored, allows you to find all information in the software instead of digging through paper files or emails. CDMS was designed to streamline procedures by reducing redundant data entry which saves time. Easy to use lookup functions that allow you to view details if requested are available in every module in the software.

Our mission is to provide the best flooring software on the market along with outstanding support. Our motto is “Real Support makes the Difference”. CDMS strives to maintain the best computer application support, training and development in the flooring industry. All support and development is performed in-house. Support is provided by telephone, email, remote training, user group conferences, and software updates. All application training is performed over a recorded Zoom meeting. A copy of these recordings is shared with the customer for their internal training or review of procedures with your own staff.
We also believe that there needs to be Freedom to use your Business Data stored in CDMS outside of the CDMS software in order to grow your business. After all, Freedom is POWER. You can download your data to create custom reporting as requested by various reporting agencies. Face it, every Government agency and Insurance company has different Audit criteria. CDMS gives you the flexibility to export your data into a CSV format where you can sort, and subtotal however you choose. The data can be used to create reports for Sales by Zipcode, State, Product, Category, Salesman, Customer, and so much more for whatever date range you choose. CSV formatted files can be imported into Databases, Spreadsheet Programs such as EXCEL, Word Processing Programs and many other applications.
